A few days have passed and I have now digested Justice Alito’s majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, observed the wailing and gnashing of teeth and parade of lies from the left, cringed at the “tsk-tsking” of sappy and sentimental hand-wringing Pharisaical killjoys on the right who are bothered by justice being celebrated, and so maybe it is time for me to share some of my thoughts on the matter. Well, oops. Maybe I just did a little bit.
First, so you know that this is not a joke, I produce a screenshot of the actual decision straight from the Supreme Court’s dot-gov Internet address. Pay attention to section (e):
Now, that is a screenshot from the “Syllabus” of the opinion, not the actual opinion itself. Sadly, there was an epic pagination fail in the actual opinion that makes it unattractive to capture, but just so you know that we are not, in fact, being punked, I’ll attach another screenshot of the actual conclusion of the opinion:
It is so ordered.
Those are probably the four most beautiful and impactful words I have read in my forty-six years. And, to be honest, I never thought I would read them in my lifetime.
