Well, we really are going to do this yet again. There is probably nothing I hate more than debating gun policy, except perhaps debating gun policy immediately after a horrific mass shooting when everyone is, as they ought to be, extremely upset. As an everyday, ordinary matter, my policy is usually “I don’t talk about guns; I just carry them.” But when you’re a public theologian sometimes you have to say something.
